BIO:

Akira Kobayashi is a Syrian-born Japanese actor based in Hamburg, Germany, whose work encompasses film, television, theatre, commercials and motion capture. Working across international productions, he brings a distinctive multicultural perspective and professional experience to both European and Japanese screen industries.

Akira is fluent in Arabic, Japanese and English and has worked on productions associated with Toho, NHK, Fuji TV, TV Asahi, TBS and Amazon Prime Video Japan. His screen work includes the internationally recognised short film Gift, which received multiple festival distinctions, including Best International Short Film at the Santa Fe Film Festival, Best World Cinema at Kansas City FilmFest, and a Platinum Remi Award at WorldFest-Houston.

Prior to establishing his acting career, Akira competed as a professional footballer, developing the physical discipline, coordination and performance awareness that continue to inform his work on screen and in physically demanding roles.

His combination of multilingual ability, international experience, athletic background and cross-cultural identityenables him to work naturally across a broad range of characters and production environments, particularly in drama, action, commercial and internationally oriented projects.
